Karen Schorkopf is a professional Business Broker & Exit Planning Consultant with over 30 years of banking, investment and consulting experience. Her background is very diverse, covering most industries and spanning from International Investment Banking clients on Wall Street to serving Main Street and Middle Market businesses in the ever-expanding Middle Tennessee community. Over the decades, she has helped business owners and executives build their businesses and as a Business Broker, Karen enjoys helping owners with the important and personal decision of selling their business while guiding the buyers as they navigate through the acquisition process. As a seasoned business and community leader, Karen’s advantage is her very extensive local and global networking resources. Her buyer pool is deep. She is connected to most every specialized Private Equity Group and investment team throughout the US while also extremely well connected to strategic buyers seeking “add on opportunities” and individuals and local entrepreneurs in search of new opportunities. Karen brings strong skills honed over decades of corporate experience necessary to close deals. These services include financial analysis, marketing, due diligence, business valuations, lending and negotiations. Karen’s key to success is her ability to inspire trust, her commitment to communication, her perseverance and her strong desire for “win-win” outcomes. Karen graduated from Duke University with a BS Degree in Economics before completing the Commercial Finance Program at New York University’s Sterns School of Business. Karen has also attended the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) and Mergers & Acquisitions Master Intermediary (M&AMI) programs through the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA). Karen is active in numerous professional and civic organizations including several regional Chambers of Commerce, The Exit Planning Institute, The Entrepreneur Center, National Association of Women Business Owners, Women in Commercial Real Estate, Nashville Cable & Rutherford Cable. Previously, she has served on Board of Directors in banks, real estate groups, chambers, senior organizations, professional services groups and economic development organizations. Karen lives in Franklin TN with her husband, Paul. They have three grown sons. She enjoys gardening, travel and hiking.
